Haymount Truck Stop

Haymount Truck Stop is Fayetteville's first stop for food trucks because the trucks come to it. The court runs "a rotating schedule of food, beverage and dessert trucks" for lunch and dinner every day, and it posts the current lineup on Instagram and Facebook rather than on its website (Haymount Truck Stop). While you wait for your order, the property has outdoor patios, a full-service bar with cocktails and craft beer on tap, and an arcade. It calls itself family and pet friendly, and the Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce named it Best New Business 2025 (Haymount Truck Stop).

How to use it well:

1. Check the court's social feed the morning you plan to go to see which trucks are booked.
2. Go early on Friday and Saturday evenings, when the bar stays open until midnight.
3. Combine it with a walk around the Haymount Historic District, the neighborhood around it.

The Hive of Hope Mills

The Hive is a $1.1 million food truck park next to Hope Mills Municipal Park that held its grand opening and ribbon cutting on Friday, April 10, 2026 (BizFayetteville). It includes:

• Seven food truck spaces, each set up for daily service
• A 3,500-square-foot event center and a commissary kitchen for vendors (BizFayetteville)
• A covered stage and a market for local artisans and farmers
• A permanent home for Big T's, a longtime Hope Mills snack bar serving snoballs and ice cream year-round

At opening, more than 80 trucks had signed up for the seven rotating weekly spots, and hours were 10 a.m.-10 p.m. weekdays, 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday (CBS 17). Dirtbag Ales

The visitors bureau describes Dirtbag Ales, off I-95 in Hope Mills, as the area's largest brewery and notes it has live, nightly entertainment "along with food trucks right out back" (DistiNCtly Fayetteville). On scheduled Sundays it also hosts a farmers market, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., through November 15 for the 2026 season (DistiNCtly Fayetteville). 4th Friday and downtown events

The Cool Spring Downtown District's free 4th Friday brings vendors and food carts to downtown on selected fourth Fridays from March through October (2026 had no July or September edition) (DistiNCtly Fayetteville). Some months add a dedicated truck lineup: the June 26, 2026 edition included a Food Truck Rodeo on Green and Gillespie streets (Sunny 94.3). How to Find Food Trucks on Any Given Day

Most Fayetteville trucks do not keep fixed hours, so finding them takes a little planning:

• Follow the courts. Haymount Truck Stop and The Hive post daily or weekly lineups, which is the fastest way to see several trucks at once.
• Follow individual trucks. Most announce their location on Facebook or Instagram the same morning.
• Watch local food groups. Local Facebook groups such as Fayetteville Foodies regularly field "best food truck" questions and location posts.
• Check event calendars. The DistiNCtly Fayetteville events calendar lists festivals and markets where trucks set up.

Starting a Food Truck in Cumberland County: Permit Basics

If you want to run a truck rather than eat from one, the health permit comes from Cumberland County Environmental Health's Food and Lodging section at 1235 Ramsey Street, Suite 3300 (Cumberland County). Key points from the county:

• Plan review comes first. Every mobile food unit goes through plan review before a food service permit is issued, and preliminary review is completed within 30 days once the application is complete.
• Fees. Plan review costs $200 for a mobile food unit and $150 for a pushcart; a temporary food establishment permit is $75 per event (Cumberland County Environmental Health).
• Commissary. Units operate from an approved restaurant or commissary, documented with the county's Commissary Agreement Form.

State law has allowed a mobile food unit to act as its own commissary since 2012, if the unit and its servicing area meet North Carolina's commissary sanitation rules (NC Division of Public Health). Where you may park and sell is a separate question for the city or town, so contact the municipality before booking a regular spot.
