Fayetteville Festivals Month by Month

The DistiNCtly Fayetteville visitors bureau keeps a list of signature annual events by month (annual events and festivals). The months below pair that list with dates from each organizer where one has been announced.

January and February

• Martin Luther King Jr. Parade (January). The bureau describes a downtown parade of school bands, churches and civic groups honoring Dr. King (annual events).
• Indoor Skydiving Nationals (February). A two-day competition at Paraclete XP's wind tunnel that spectators can watch (annual events).

March: 4th Friday Returns

Cool Spring Downtown District's 4th Friday series runs on selected fourth Fridays from March through October (2026 had no July or September edition), with visual and performing arts, live music and street performers downtown (4th Friday 2026 listing). April: Dogwood Festival and Opening Day

• Fayetteville Dogwood Festival. The 2026 festival ran April 24-26 (ABC11). The foundation has set the free 45th annual festival for April 23-25, 2027, at Festival Park (Dogwood Festival events). Our Dogwood Festival guide covers parking and history.
• Fayetteville Woodpeckers season. The Houston Astros' Single-A club opened its 2026 home schedule at Segra Stadium on Friday, April 3. Standard first pitches were 6:35 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 7:05 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 5:05 p.m. Sunday (MiLB). The team went on to win the 2026 Carolina League championship, its first in franchise history (MiLB). The 2027 season opens April 2 on the road, with the home opener at Segra Stadium on April 6; see the Woodpeckers and Segra Stadium guide for the full schedule.

May

• Fort Bragg Fair. A spring fair open to the public, with carnival rides and entertainment included in admission (annual events; Fort Bragg MWR calendar).

June: Juneteenth Jubilee

Cool Spring Downtown District produced the 2026 Juneteenth Jubilee at Festival Park on Friday, June 19, from 5 to 11 p.m., with the City of Fayetteville as title sponsor and a ticketed VIP option (Juneteenth Jubilee 2026).

July: Fourth of July

• 4th of July at Festival Park. The Dogwood Festival Foundation hosted this on July 4, 2026 (Dogwood Festival events).
• Fort Bragg and Hope Mills. The bureau also lists the Fort Bragg July 4th celebration, with music, parachute demonstrations and fireworks, and the Town of Hope Mills parade and evening fireworks at Municipal Park (annual events; Hope Mills).
• The District Vibe. From July through October, 4th Friday adds a live performance stage and beer garden (4th Friday 2026 listing).

August

• Umoja Festival. The Umoja Group's celebration of African American heritage with storytellers, vendors, bands and a health fair (annual events).
• Dogwood Nights. The foundation's Second Saturday street dances ran August through November 2026, starting with a Back to School Bash on August 8 (Dogwood Festival events).

September: International Folk Festival

The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County held its free 48th annual International Folk Festival on September 25-26, 2026: a Friday evening street celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. and a Saturday Parade of Nations at 10 a.m., followed by Festival Park (Arts Council). October

• 4th Friday District Fall Fest, October 23, 2026. The ZombieWalk is on hiatus this year; the season finale instead brings a book crawl, an Oktoberfest beer garden with local breweries, hayrides and a parade performance by Paperhand Puppet Project, 6-10 p.m. (Cool Spring Downtown District). • Halloween at the Boo-tanical Garden. Jack-o'-lanterns and luminaries along the trails at Cape Fear Botanical Garden (annual events).

November: Veterans Day and Dickens

• Veterans Day Parade. The Cumberland County Veterans Council's free parade steps off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2026 (DistiNCtly Fayetteville). In past years the route has run from Cool Spring and Person streets to Hay Street near City Hall (parade committee).
• Holly Day Fair. The Junior League's holiday gift and craft show (annual events).
• A Dickens Holiday, November 27, 2026. A free one-day Victorian Christmas festival downtown starting at noon, with a candlelight procession and fireworks after dark (A Dickens Holiday). Details are in the Dickens Holiday guide.

December

• Rotary Christmas Parade. The 27th annual parade starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2026, at Person Street and Liberty Point, circles the Market House and heads up Hay Street (Rotary Christmas Parade).
• Holiday Lights in the Garden and Holiday Jubilee. Cape Fear Botanical Garden lights a mile-long path, and the Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex hosts a Victorian caroling open house at the Poe House (annual events).

Planning Tips

Most downtown festivals use Festival Park or the Hay Street corridor. City paid parking runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, and a $5 special-event flat rate typically applies at city-owned lots and the Hay Street and Franklin Street decks before large events (Park Fayetteville).
