Walk-Through Light Displays

Holiday Lights in the Garden at Cape Fear Botanical Garden

The garden's 2026 series is posted for Friday through Sunday, December 4-6; Thursday through Sunday, December 10-13; and Thursday through Monday, December 17-21 (2026 event series). The garden's homepage lists hours of 5 to 9 p.m. (Cape Fear Botanical Garden). Entry is by timed ticket, and the garden had not published 2026 prices as of October 13, 2026. The garden is at 536 N. Eastern Blvd., a short drive from downtown; see the Cape Fear Botanical Garden listing for directions and daytime hours.

What to plan for:

  • Buy timed tickets as soon as the garden posts them; weekend nights are the busiest.
  • The display is outdoors, so dress for a December evening walk.
  • Wear shoes suited to garden paths.

Fayetteville Holiday Lights at Segra Stadium

Fayetteville Holiday Lights, powered by PWC, says it "returns to Segra Stadium in 2026" and tells visitors to check back in fall 2026 for next season's details (event site). The 2026 dates and ticket prices are not yet announced. The event's overview page describes 3.5 million lights, a 40-foot light-up tree, holiday vendors and food, and Santa visits (overview). Last season's posted hours were 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 6 to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with a midnight close on New Year's Eve (overview), so expect a similar evening schedule once 2026 dates post (FCPR). The ballpark is at 460 Hay St.; our Segra Stadium guide covers parking downtown.

Drive-Thru Christmas Lights Near Fayetteville

Christmas in the Park at Arnette Park

Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation runs a drive-thru display at Arnette Park, 2165 Wilmington Hwy., off Exit 100 of Highway 87 (City of Fayetteville). The 2026 dates are not yet announced. For reference, the 2025 edition ran 6 to 9 p.m. on December 7-11, 14-18 and 21-22, skipped Fridays and Saturdays, and charged no admission, with Fayetteville PWC as the presenting sponsor (City of Fayetteville). Because it closes on weekend nights, it is the easiest light display to visit on a school night without a ticket.

Festival of Lights at Sweet Valley Ranch

Sweet Valley Ranch, 2990 Sunnyside School Road in eastern Cumberland County, says its Festival of Lights "will return in 2026" with tickets going on sale November 7 (ranch site). The specific 2026 nights are not yet announced on the ranch's page, so wait for the ticket release before picking a date. The posted pricing is $12 per person online or $15 at the gate for groups of one to four, with discounts for larger groups and free entry for children 2 and under; hours are 6:30 to 10 p.m. (ranch site).
