Fort Bragg Lodging: PCS Hotels On and Off Post (2026)
Where to stay during a PCS to Fort Bragg: the two IHG Army Hotels properties on post, how CONUS Temporary Lodging Expense works, verified extended-stay suites near Skibo Road, and booking tips for TLE receipts.
Fort Bragg lodging on post is run by IHG Army Hotels, which operates Candlewood Suites Building 3705 and IHG Army Hotels Normandy House & Carolina Inn inside the installation. Off post, Fayetteville, NC has extended-stay suites with full kitchens near Skibo Road and the All American Freeway. For a CONUS PCS, Temporary Lodging Expense (TLE) can partly reimburse up to 21 days. If you are flying in, see the Fayetteville Regional Airport guide.
On-Post Fort Bragg Lodging: IHG Army Hotels
Fort Bragg has no Army-run hotel. The garrison's Housing Services Office states that temporary lodging on and off base is managed by private companies and that there is no government or Army-run temporary lodging inventory. On post, that company is IHG Army Hotels, part of the Army's Privatization of Army Lodging (PAL) program, according to the IHG Army Hotels FAQ. Its locations page lists two Fort Bragg properties.
| Property | Location | What the hotel lists |
|---|---|---|
| Candlewood Suites Building 3705 | D-3705 Darby Loop, Fort Bragg, NC 28310 | 207 rooms on 6 floors; studio, one- and two-bedroom suites; check-in 4 p.m., check-out 11 a.m.; minimum check-in age 21; front desk (910) 853-7618 |
| IHG Army Hotels Normandy House & Carolina Inn | 3801 Tomahawk Circle, Fort Bragg, NC 28310 | 48 rooms on 2 floors, including four-bedroom Carolina Inn bungalows; full kitchen, free breakfast, self-service laundry, limited housekeeping; check-in is at Building D-3705 Darby Loop |
IHG's locations page described the Candlewood Suites as new construction opening March 2026. The Normandy House page notes limited parking (six spaces beside the building) and asks guests to use the old O'Club lot nearby; guests must display parking passes.
Booking On Post and Pet Rules
- Reservations: book on the IHG Army Hotels site or call central reservations at 1-877-711-TEAM (8326); bookings are first-come, first-served (IHG FAQ).
- A reservation is not a gate pass. IHG says a booking does not grant installation access. Adult family members (18 and older) without a DoD ID need a visitor pass, and children riding with a cleared adult are vouched for; see our Fort Bragg visitor access guide.
- Pets: both Fort Bragg properties accept dogs and cats only, up to two per room, each up to 80 pounds, and you must sign a pet agreement at check-in. Tell reservations about pets in advance. Pet fees are charged; the property pages describe them inconsistently, so confirm the total when you book.
- Weapons: firearms are prohibited in IHG Army Hotels and must be registered and stored as the installation directs.
TLE Basics for a CONUS PCS
TLE partly reimburses lodging and meals while you or your dependents stay in temporary lodging during a PCS within the continental U.S. (DTMO TLE FAQ, JTR par. 050601).
- Days: DTMO raised the CONUS limit from 14 to 21 days effective November 27, 2024. Moves to an overseas duty station get 7 days. Fort Bragg's HSO also lists TLE for a PCS to Fort Bragg as limited to 21 days.
- Daily cap: TLE is the lesser of $290 per day or a calculated amount based on the locality per diem rate.
- Who counts: the percentage of the locality rate depends on occupancy: 65% for one person, 100% for two, plus 35% for each additional dependent 12 or older and 25% for each one under 12.
- Not on travel days: you cannot claim TLE and PCS per diem for the same day.
- Friends and family: staying with relatives pays only the meal portion, with no lodging reimbursement.
- Government quarters first: the JTR requires using available Government quarters. If none are available, you need a non-availability confirmation number from the reservation process, or commercial lodging reimbursement is capped. Because IHG Army Hotels are privatized under PAL, IHG says official travelers to those installations no longer need statements of non-availability; confirm the requirement for your orders with your finance office before booking off post.
Look up the Fayetteville/Fort Bragg locality rate with the DTMO per diem rate lookup, and read the garrison's TLE guidance.
Off-Post Extended-Stay Hotels Near the Gates
Every hotel below was checked on its operator's official page. This is not a complete list, and no rates are given because they change by date. For more options by area, see the Fayetteville hotels guide.
- Candlewood Suites Fayetteville Fort Bragg, 4108 Legend Avenue. Full kitchens, free guest laundry, weekly housekeeping and pets allowed. Not the same property as the on-post Candlewood Suites.
- Homewood Suites by Hilton Fayetteville, 4028 Legend Avenue. Off Highway 24 with suites that have fully equipped kitchens, free hot breakfast and an indoor pool; dogs and cats only, two maximum.
- Home2 Suites by Hilton Fayetteville Fort Bragg, 4035 Sycamore Dairy Road. Extended-stay suites; Hilton lists it seven miles from Fort Bragg and accepts pets for a fee.
- Embassy Suites by Hilton Fayetteville Fort Bragg, 4760 Lake Valley Drive. A two-room-suite hotel off the All American Freeway at Skibo Road, with made-to-order breakfast; dogs and cats only.
All four sit in the Skibo Road and Cross Creek Mall corridor, so groceries and stores are close; see Cross Creek Mall and Skibo retail. Gate access is the catch. Fort Bragg's gate schedule effective July 27, 2026 shows the All American ACP closed for the Gruber Road Bridge replacement, so a hotel near the All American Freeway no longer means a short trip through that gate. Check which 24/7 gate is nearest your unit in the gates and commute guide.
Booking Tips: Government Rate and TLE Receipts
- Ask for the government or military rate. Say you are on PCS orders when you book, and compare the quote with the locality lodging rate so you know whether you will be out of pocket.
- Keep itemized receipts. DTMO requires itemized lodging receipts for TLE (JTR par. 010301), so ask the front desk for a nightly breakdown including tax.
- Book flexible. Corvias does not offer temporary housing while you wait for an on-post home, and wait times depend on vacancies, so choose a rate you can extend or cancel. See Fort Bragg housing options.
- Track your days. TLE days are counted across the move, so days used near your old station reduce what is left at Fort Bragg.
- Large vehicles and pets. Confirm trailer or moving-truck parking and the full pet charge in writing before arrival.
